Anonymous goes after Westboro Baptist Church - Again

Anonymous is back attacking the Westboro Baptist Church following tweets by the hate group referencing the Boston Marathon.

Anonymous appeared to have hacked the WBC Facebook page rewriting the 'about' information to now state: "THE OFFICIAL WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH FACEBOOK PAGE YA'LL Church Leaders; Marilyn Manson, Anonymous, and Captain Crunch. @Wbaptists and @WbcTruth (Twitter) YouTube.com/RealWestboroBaptists". They also began a series of posts that include inspirational quotes for change from the cast of Star Trek and Martin Luther King, Jr. to name a few.







This attack came on the heels of the WBC tweeting that they plan to picket the funerals of Boston Marathon victims. This is not the first time that Anonymous has hit the hate group, with the Sandy Hook attack still being fresh in memory.

MotherJones believes that it is likely Anonymous members have been engaged in the brandjacking (read: squatting) of the (bogus) Westboro Baptist Church page for the past four months.

The Facebook page is still up and running as of this moment, and I suggest you take a gander, because some of the posts are quite funny, but clearly the message about respect and tolerance is very serious. Anonymous makes that very clear and underlines the sentiment with - "expect us".
