About MajorGeeks \ Contact
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Majorgeeks.com was founded on a few simple premises:
That G-E-E-K should be more than just a four-letter word, but a way of life.
That the proper use of a pocket protector is not only handy but one snazzy fashion statement.
That having computers as a hobby does not necessarily rule out chicks.
That access to a collection of Geekware*, is a right, not a privilege.
Although it may sometimes feel like it, fixing one's computer isn't rocket science.
For over two decades, MajorGeeks.com has been a pivotal platform in the digital landscape, championing the discovery and distribution of innovative software and cybersecurity solutions.
Recognizing early on the critical importance of safety and reliability in software downloads, we committed ourselves to a rigorous standard of quality. Each piece of software featured on our platform undergoes thorough editor testing, ensuring that our users receive only the safest, most dependable applications. This dedication to excellence has not only bolstered our role in helping to launch premier anti-malware applications like Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes, IObit, and hundreds more-- but has also played a pivotal role in redefining the software download landscape, often at a heavy financial cost. Why? Our goal at MajorGeeks.com is to become synonymous with integrity and trustworthiness, cleaning up the image of download sites and setting a new benchmark for safe, reliable software distribution.
Our mission is clear: Offer a trusted source of information and software dedicated to ensuring you can access the tools you need worry-free.
MajorGeeks is a small, home-based technology website that was founded in 2001 and focused on only the best, safe, personally tested software available on the internet. We have since spread out into writing guides and YouTube videos to help people fix or improve their computers.
How we test for software:
1: We Google it and look into the software and company reputation. Sometimes we can eliminate a program right here.
2: If it passes step 1, then we need to scan it with multiple virus scanners using VirusTotal, for example.
3: Last is the most important and unique step at MajorGeeks for the software we're comfortable listing. We use VMWare Workstation to test the software safely. We want to see if it does what it promises, is fairly priced if shareware, and is worthy of a 4-star or better rating. 90% of the downloads here are not the developer's words but our own description or review.
Here is a video explaining it better:
If you need help finding a download use the Google Search at the top of any page or check out our popular Top Freeware Picks.
If you need help, stop by our Support Forums and ask for help. We believe you will find our forums friendly to newcomers.
MajorGeeks is brought to you by:
