Zipeg is an ultimate tool for opening ZIP and RAR files on Mac and Windows. (think of it as a free little brother of WinZip, WinRar', StuffIt family). Project has been abandoned.

Zipeg is the easiest way to open RAR or ZIP archive, find the right file inside archive and unpack it. Zip thru photo archives, see thumbnails, select and extract what you need. 

Zipeg supports:

 Formats: ZIP, RAR, 7z, ARJ, LHA, TGZ, TAR and many many more. 
 Pictures and Photos - preview them instantly or open in external application. 
 Filenames in your national alphabet. 
 Windows: XP and Vista, Mac OS X: Tiger and Leopard.
