IP-Tools is a grouping of multiple TCP/IP utilities combined into one program.
This essential program is indispensable for anyone who uses the internet or intranet.
IP-Tools contains a number of useful options that provide various features for examining and monitoring network connections. It includes a Local Info feature that displays information about the local host, such as processor, memory, and Winsock data. There is a Connection Monitor feature that shows information about current TCP and UDP network connections. NetBIOS Info can be used to obtain NetBIOS information about network interfaces of local and remote computers, while NB Scanner is a shared resources scanner. There is also an SNMP Scanner that scans network(s) for SNMP-enabled devices, while the Name Scanner scans all hostnames within a range of IP addresses. It has a Port Scanner feature that scans network(s) for active TCP-based services, and the UDP Scanner scans network(s) for active UDP-based services. You also get a Ping Scanner that pings remote hosts over the network, while Trace traces the route to a remote host over the network as well as WhoIs which obtains information about an Internet host or domain name from the NIC (Network Information Center), Finger retrieves information about the user from a remote host, and LookUp looks for domain names according to its IP address or an IP address from its domain name.
There is also a GetTime feature for getting time from time servers, and you can also set the correct time on the local system. IP-Tools also includes a telnet client and an HTTP client. For monitoring, it has an IP-Monitor that shows network traffic in real-time as a set of charts and a Host Monitor to monitor the up/down status of selected hosts, while Trap Watcher allows you to receive and process SNMP Trap messages. Finally, the System Info feature provides detailed information about a remote system.
