Free Download Manager (FDM) is a robust download management program that permits downloading files and whole websites from any remote server via FTP, HTTP, and HTTPS. Portable version for Lite and Pro also available.
Free Download Manager differs from similar apps because it never downloads the whole file at once; it splits files into several sections and then downloads them simultaneously, allowing you to increase your overall download speed up to 600%. You also will be notified if a particular server (or servers) is not equipped to support download resuming. That notification permits you to decide whether or not to proceed with your download.
Also, you can organize your downloaded files by their type, placing them in predefined folders. You can also use the smart scheduler, which allows you to start or pause files that are being downloaded and perform other actions (launch applications, establish or hang up a connection, etc.) at the set time.
As a bonus, Free Download Manager gives you the ability to adjust traffic usage to ensure that you achieve faster web browsing if you happen to have a low connection speed.
